Warehousing Cost Modelling

Cost modelling is the process of taking all costs and charges related to a particular product of service and comparing them side by side in an equal manner, commonly done by using a table or excel spreadsheet for example.

Importance

Comparing warehouse providers can be a difficult process as costs and services can vary greatly across different suppliers. Not only does the price change between different providers, so too does the terminology, even for identical services. A cost model is a great way of ensuring a number of different rate schedules can be compared equally together.

Exalt Group strongly believes in being totally transparent and upfront about its charging methods. The rate schedules are detailed, and cover all costs for the customer, even if some of the charges are not being used. The same cannot be said for other providers, who offer SIMPLIFIED schecules which may initially seems attractive, but can end up costing far more due to the EXTRAS and missing charges.

The key is ensuring you ask the provider all of the relevant questions to complete an annual total cost for each provider. This will highlight the overall cost of each providers, compared to their service and capability.
